This was REAL MUSIC, not the Rap crap and R&B of today. This was clean, had a positive message.....roll models, a great harmony/melodies, real singers/tallent. I wish this music was still being made. Rest Easy Duke!! Thank you all for the amazing music and memories!!

I don’t know exactly what transpired, but IMHO, Aretha had some nerve stealing Dionne’s hit song for herself mere months later. It would have been the same had Dionne stolen “Respect” and had a smash with it. It was totally classless and an insult to Dionne and her fans. Yet, Dionne and Aretha would sing it together on “Solid Gold” years later. I didn’t get that. I just always admired that Dionne NEVER stole a hit record from Aretha - not once.

I’m soooo very sad I will never have the chance to have another long conversation with a warm wonderful soul with no ego’ and such a lovely man, Abdul “duke” fakir - who’s family must be more than proud of, even if he wasn’t famous! I have and always will treasure our chat, and how he spent so long with me and my daughter. It was last year, and he actually said god willing I’ll get another 10 years. I wished he had. I hadn’t realised I was speaking to the original legend at that time. I for one will miss you, and will hold on to the wonderful times the last 4 or 5 years have given me. This 21st June being the very best. I hope the four’ tops continue soon please and in the U.K. i literally couldn’t wait until another month! Then all u.k. gigs got cancelled, so I’m grateful, very grateful I saw them when I did. So sorry for your loss, and hope its not too painful for anyone. I just want to say Thankyou to ALL the four tops, and their families for putting up with them touring and being away too. 💚. Abdul can now make sweet music in spirit. 🤧
